i'm sure a lot of you guys have heard or downloaded the soloed bonham drum tracks that wound up on the net some months back. i think the original location i got them at is gone but a search will likely lead you to numerous places you can still get them.

i've heard them a few times already and am very very familiar with all the zep stuff. but to hear the drums soloed and to play along with them was possibly the most inspiring musical experience i've ever had. you can hear him grunting and yelling as he plays. i was totally transfixed when listening. it's almost hypnotizing. the sound coming out of my crappy 6 inch desktop speakers was awe-inspiring. truly a thunder of drums.

hopefully this post won't set off a flamewar about the legality, etc of the orginal leaking of these tracks to the world. this post was just about wanting to share a truly incredible musical experience. i'm hoping to have a lot more of them with quot;THE MAN.quot; if you guys want something more than preprogrammed drums to jam along with i suggest you head to google now.

had a look around, couldn't find a functioning link. You got one?

i want... i want

have at em guys:
from : localhost/www.saladrecords.com/bonhamfiles.htm

Welcome to the forum, TG, and thank you very much.
Edit: You guys are getting a variation in file size, too, right?

glad you'll be able to be inspired as well

a few things, one, that website isn't associated with me in any way so hopefully the tracks will be up there for a long while. secondly, you'll find, the tracks are of differing lengths. i think the longest is about 3 minutes and the shortest is about 13 seconds. but it you have recording software it's easy to make loops or simply loop whatever parts you like.

it was interesting when these came out. i found out about them on gearslutz.com, which is a fantastic music recording related website. there was some debate on whether or not these were actually john bonham. personally i believe 100% that they are. it's his style, his speed, his sound, his grunts, and some of the tracks you actually hear headphone bleed. like, you'll hear the beginning of the song carouselambra very faintly and then you hear the drums come crashing in. at the end of one of the tracks you hear someone yelling at it sounds like plant! to me, all these things add up to something that is very very real and very very bonham. sure, they could be faked, i just don't believe they are.

zep and bonham were the reason i wanted to play drums back in high school. i moved to guitar a while back but to hear him soloed like this is amazing. i can listen to these tracks just like regular songs, not even playing along to them. the power is undeniable and almost hypnotizing.

if you do search on gearslutz.com for 'bonham' you'll get some threads back. one is fairly recent but an older one is likely the one that first mentioned the tracks. it's an interesting discussion and there may even be more still active links to other different bonham drum tracks.

wOw that almost brings a tear to my eye. Bonzo is my drum hero.

Thanks heaps. That's amazing.

Thanks for sharing... That was super cool...

That kick drum sounds monsterous!!

OH MY GOD!!!! You rule bro, you rule.

Ya Thanks ! I already looped one of the sample's and made a cool BT. It's
kinda spooky jamming with his drumming. kinda like the guitar port subscription
where you can download Hendrix tunes with his guitar taken out. I had no
problem playing with Noel and Mitch on the original tracks Untill Hendrix
voice came in. It totally blew my mind hearing Jimi singing while I was playing
his lines. I coundn't compose myself to finish the song.
BTW, I have a sample of the BT I made in the tipsamp;clips. If anybody wants
the full BT ? I'll mix it down to just bass amp; Drums.

you are all very welcome!

when you hear how monstruous his drum sound is can you imagine how they must have sounded as raw (probably 2quot;) tape tracks! what we are hearing is these tracks coverted ultimately to mp3 files. so the sound has lost a little clarity and impact. but still......wow!

I am DEFINITELY downloading this when I get home. This is the coolest thing I've seen in a long time!

Thanks a bajillion!!!

I just wanted to bump this and mention the clips are still available at the above saladrecords link. I'm gonna burn some onto a cd so I can rum them through a solid state practice amp I have to jam along with. For a shortcut, tracks 2, 13, 14, 19, and 22 seem to be the longest running.

Bonzo was king of the kit. Those tracks are amazing.

Is there any sample from All my Love?

Amazing! RIP Bonzo, the best drummer to ever live, IMO. Thanks so much for these tracks, I'm gonna jam to these later.
