this is to become my first bass.
Not so much info to be found on the custom model i just bought(active electronics) but the normal one with passive electronics is the same construction wise. So:
Maple neck-thru with maple wings
rosewood board
licensed steinberger bridge
emg select pickups
24 frets
34quot; scale
on this bass there are aditional active electronics, but those are stated as not working(probaly a solder-joint gone bad with time or a seller who doesn't know that you need batteries for it in the auction but i can live with that and probably fix it.Gigbag included and the shipping isn't too expensive
From all the reviews i gather that it's an instrument of high build-quality and with a really wide range of sounds(even without the active circuits). It might need a bit of adjusting, cleaning and so on but i guess it will hold it's value for the price i paid for it.
Fell free to correct the infos i have, add own info/experiences/comments and maybe answer me two questions:
1. Playing it at bedroom levels through a guitar amp shouldn't be a very big problem, right?
2. Since the strings are old and need to be changed: any recommendations on string gauge(I'm a beginer on the bass as you might have gathered) and brand?Strings need to be double ball end.
bump
anyone?
Looks weird... but cool I think. Not bad for a first bass. I'd be extra careful with the guitar amp.
