instructions clearly. Yet at the end of it all Excel states that I'm unable
to use validation against data from other workbooks, yet I have followed the

The answer is yes, you can do this. But the specifics depend on the format
of the data you've got for hours and time. For example, if I've got 3/25/06
11:00 in one cell and 8:00 in another, then I can just add them together. If
I've got 3/25/06 11:00 in A1 and 8 in B1 (representing 8 hours), then my
formula would be =a1 b1/24. (the number 1 represents a day to Excel; if

I have a worksheet (more or less a template) on which I often have to sort 1
out of 4 columns at first (the 3rd one), then all 4 columns after (using the
1st of the 4 to sort, this time). I just switched to a newer version of
Excel and this new version keeps asking me if I want to expand my selection
because the program found data in adjacent cells.

How do I set my page at 90% view but not under the page set up?
Do you mean that you just want to view it at 90% on the monitor? If so,
select View, Zoom, choose Custom and enter 90.

I was trying to copy-paste a simple formula to calculate the rest of the
cells in a column, the problem is that when I try to paste the formula it
pastes the values from the original cell. even though in that original
formula the values are not absolute, there are no $ sign what so ever!

I have a formula that i put in each cell in column B to look at the date
in column A. If the date in column A is more than 30 days previous then
the cell beside it in column B shows quot;OVERDUEquot;. If it is not then the
cell in column B is left blank. The problem that I am having is that
if there is no date in column A then it still shows quot;OVERDUEquot;. Is
