my 2 JBL's look like they need remagnetizing. Would a good amp shop have the equipment to do this?
would it be possible to do this with a larger magnet to remagnetize the alnico magnet on the d130f's?

I got a fairly shoddy, but playable Johnson Bass guitar the other. I've done some technique research/questioning and found the FINGERS amp; PLECTRUM schools of thought. I find plectrum alot more natural than the alternating index amp; middle finger style. Mostly because i play with a plecturm on regular guitar.
Any reason to struggle and persist with finger method? (Other than the sound of the actual attack) Or can i just plectrum away. All i really wanna do is play my own bass when writing and recording ditties at home. Nothing more really.
FWIW I know a lot of guitar players that insist on using their fingers and not a pick. I say whatever floatsyour boat. Depends what youre playing that would decide the style. If you want the click of the pick on the strings use a pic but I would think it hard to switch between a pick and fingers for popping and slapping.

Alpine white Gibson Studio, used, seller says quot;year 92 or 93 or 95, good condition, changed tuners.quot; Remind me what i should examine extra carefully, and what i should look out for in terms of issues and problems.
everything with a description like that.
Ask for the serial number.. That'll sor out the year. Pics of the tuners, or if you can test them, detune all strings, retune and play for a while.. and the usual dents and scratches and the essential checking if the neck can be used in a rocking chair. (I don't know what the name of the part touching the ground, allowing the rocking is)

Got my Board populated ready to go ! It's a metroamps MV50watt board going
into a 50watt Pro-tube 50 Laney. Metro gives intructions for installing it into a 100watt Marshall ? And the Laney trannies are color coded different. The Filter caps and fuse holders are different aswell. So I'm kinda lost I've got a post with pics on the Metro board, But that board moves at a snails pace. Anyone here wanna take a look? Here's a link to my post.

I own a Marshall JTM60 (the three 10' speaker model) and I think it's brilliant. I'd like to know more about it but it's really hard to find anything on the web. The Marshall site barely mentions it. I know a little about it, when it was built, when they stopped building it, all the problems with overheating which led to the model being discontinued. But I'd still like to find out more. Anyone know anything about this amp or where I can read up on it?

Harmony Central user reviews has some good info, you have to read through the 13 year old posers and whiners, but some good stuff is hidden in there. Marshall's site is notoriously bad.

Anyone tried one or had a Jackson with one in it ? I like the look, so anybody got some poop on these, tone wise, mod, etc.
I didn't like them..........if you want EMG's you should check their active range of pickups........
I hate them i am replacing them with an invader i own but the tech i have has 40 guitars ahead of him, Until mine.

OK, awile ago I got my MIM strat and loved it, it has (I think) a hybrid set (9's). Now, when used the trem then it stayed in tune REAL well. Now..
I brought it in for a setup and now its 100x better (I was stupid to think it was good before the setup!) and I got 10-52's put on.
Now, with even small (VERY small) trem use, you can hear the strings quot;clingquot; at the nut (s othey're getting caught in it right??) and then it throws it off tune and its pissing me off.

ok as a follow up to my last thread here's my third project...the body and bridge pickup came in today and i got it together...
right now it has a temporary MIM tele neck but a MIA maple one will be going on in the future...
i'm on a serious tele kick now and have been selling most of my strats and buying/building teles to replace them with and i'm much happier with the teles!!
