Is it some brands you trust without looking up and reading reviews, hear if someone have try it etc? I will always use Schaller straplocks and Levy's straps. Ernie Ball strings is something i have started to use recently and i can't see why going back to anything else.
When it come's to more expensive things like instruments, amps etc i want to try before i buy.
Do you trust any company without trying there stuff?

first of all, i want to know what are the characteristcs of ibanez guitar, in their tradicional wood combination : Basswood body/maple neck with rosewood fretboard. 24 jumbo frets and and floyd rose. what´s its positives X Negatives ?!
i´m willing to buy a complete set of dimarzios, to install on this ibanez.
no duncans, sorry... unless someone here can convince me ono duncans WITH soundclips. otherwise, dimarzios. i think duincans not match what i want for this guitar.

What pickups was James using on the first 4 albums? Justice seem like he made the switch to EMGs, but the first three seem to have a non-EMG vibe? (Kirk has been using EMGs since Kill 'em all, right?)
Also, at what point did the rhythm sound evolve from Marshalls to Mesas?
James played Stock Gibby's w/496r and 500t pups on Kill'em All and RTL. I believe he started using Invaders and Distortions around Puppets along with his Boogies. And Justice was pure EMG/Boogie.

king koil coiled insturment cable
Does an insturment cable being coiled really give any positive or negative reactions to tone?
I don't have any experience with this but if the coiled cable has a higher resistance than a normal cable it will minimally alter the signal from the guitar to the amp and this undoubtedly will have (even if its teeny) an effect on the tone

Here it is guys! I LOVE this thing. The pickups are horrid but the guitar its self is amazing. You'll never believe me but I can bottom out that standard trem and it still is in tune. Now THAT is a trem. Here it is, with the woman who got it for me, I find my g/f with a guitar very hott but then again doesn't every guitar player?very sweet, the quilting looks very nice. Always good to have a model to show off your guitar, even better when she buys it

Does anyone have any knowledge or experience of this pup? It is discontinued now but was a single coil Strat pup. I think the VS stood for Vintage Strat, so I'm guessing it would be similar to their current Class Of '55 model. Anyone?
dont know. what i do know is that i like most dimarzio single coils much more than most of their humbuckers. the class of 55 isnt bad, the fs1 and sds1 are cool, even the virtual2's arent bad.

i was wondering if i could just clip my old hot wires and connect the hotwires of the new pups to those instead of soldering them directly to the switch. Thanks.

yep, of course you can...just make sure pups are well grounded. i've done 3 sets of pups in my les paul this way..no buzzing or anything.

I tried out a dozen before I decided on this one, had to drive a couple of hundred miles between stores in Hollywood, Brea, San Diego and Riverside but it was worth the effort. And what could only make having a new 57' Reissue golden beauty to play on even better?

Hi i just got a new Vox valvetronix 30 watt amp and i'm a bit confused on how to use it. What the difference between the Volume knob and the master knob? I'm trying to get just a normal clean sound out of it with the effects turned off but i can't get the sound very loud. how much gain should be on when i'm playing it clean?
volume would probably act as somewhat of a gain control for natural overdrive of the differnt amp models.......if you want real volume, you need to turn the master volume up
that being said, you want the volume lower, and the master higher for a clean tone.....now, if there are distortion model effects on there, they may be on, and why your not getting a clean tone........ wait for fellow forum member StratDeluxer to see this thread, hes all-knowing about these amps lol

so it turns out I am not going to have the funds for a new amp or guitar for christmas and I want to get something for my guitars. I have stock pots in my guitars. What tonal difference will come with nicer pots. I have 250k's in my mim tele(hotsk/vinstk) and 500s in my squier stage master(JB/Jazz).
You probably won't notice much of a sonic difference if your stock pots really measure what they are labeled as (I doubt it). What you will notice is more consistent taper, and CTS pots just plain feel better than what comes in most guitars stock. They also last longer.
I thought fender installed CTS stock though......

Hey guys. I've read a lot of reviews on the Peavey XXl amps and it sounds very promising. A lot of tube veterans gave it high ratings which really impressed me. It seems like it has a lot of the features that I look for. I was just wondering if anyone has one or has tried one out? Comments on how it performs in a live situation? I really like how you can set it from 25, 50 to 100 watts. I've been looking for a step up from my Roland and I don't think owning a tube amp at college would be the best situation either. I want good tones at low volumes. Well, let's hear it! Also, anyone know of any sites where I can hear some clips? I did a search in the Tips and Clips and nothing came up.
I really like them for SS, but if you want to have a low-volume setup, I'd honestly go with a PODxt or modeling amp.
