I have a newer model Marshall Valevestate...the reverb only works up untill noon, anything past and the reverb cuts off and the volume on the gain channel cuts out if you're not touching the knob...can any of you give me pointers on how to solve this problem myself?

....Ashdown amplifiers??????? Almost every bass player i know or have seen on TV, seems to play one of these....most of the gigs i have attended to...there's always one of them......Where are all the Trace elliots, SWR, Ampeg e.t.c???? Is it a quot;trendquot; or do they offer something special??? What about their guitar amp range????
ashdown bass amps are wicked i see more ampeg at shows, but i do love their stuff. it sounds great and the headroom on even the 40-50w stuff is surprising..
one of my mates has the peacemaker 40 combo.. from what i've heard and seen, its a very nice amp! less 'rocky' than a marshall, more at home with indie and cleaner stuff. i was impressed with it hooked up to a jazzmaster though

I'm looking for a new tremolo to go with my ESP Maverick. What tremolo manufacturers are there that compete with Floyd or Kahler? Oddly enough, I hate the bar. Is there one that has an interesting design without a bar? Thanks....
These days there's really only Floyd Rose, Wilkinson, Bigsby, 6 screw vintage Fender trem or the 2 point Fender American standard trem.
All tremolos have a bar so you're out of luck unless you go with a hardtail.

I can't decide between the surfer or the texas hots for my new SSS lake placid blue start It seems to me, from reading opinions 'round here, that the surfer is more glassy and sparkly and has more top end. It's lively basically. And the texas hots have more sizzle and are quot;ruderquot;. Am I right? Ayway, I was thinking with going with the hots just because somone, Lew I believe, said that they are better for a SRV tone, which, IMO, is the best strat tone ever. I'm really a Les Paul guy (this is my first strat), but I've really gotten into SRV lately, so I decided to get a strat The tone I want is that beautiful quot;Little Wingquot; clean tone, but I also want to be able to pull off a buttery smooth distortion occassionally.
However, my strat is a basswood body, maple neck, rosewood fretboard, so it probably won't be as quot;livelyquot; as a standard alder/maple/maple strat and could benefit from the surfers. I don't really know which route to go, that's why am I asking you guys. So waddya think: Surfers or Texas Hots?

The guitarist in my band plays a single channel 100 watt JCM 800 (2203?) halfstack. His guitars are a stock Fender Cyclone and a Tom Delonge Strat (with Invader). He's been using a stock Boss DS-1 for distortion, but it sounds like ass. We've managed to get around the swarm of angry bees effect, but the biggest problem is now the massive volume drop that happens when the pedal is switched on. Regardless of battery strength and pedal settings, especially with the high-output of the Invader, the volume level of the amp drops a ton when the pedal is switched on.
This is my two-part questoin: What causes the drop, and what OD/Distortion boxes are suitable? We play a wide range of music, but most of it comes back to a Green Day meets Metallica sort of sound. He's been interested in the Zakk OD, but hasn't had a chance to play anything yet. I don't think modding this pedal will get what he needs, but I could be wrong.
So, suggestions are appreciated. Thank you much.

Hey guys. I'm have an Idea that I think would looks beautiful but I suck at drawing.
I'm thinking of a Guitar Body kind of like a Peavey Wolfgang/Musicman Axis/Warmoth VW only I'm thinking of it small width wise as in body perimiter if you know what I mean. Mainly what I think gives the guitar it's appeal is the upper quot;humpquot;. I guess I'm thinking more of a Strat Body with the quot;Humpquot; and a longer lower horn. The closest I've been able to find is the Godin LG but I'm looking for a Flat top that looks longer if you know what I mean.
It's in my head but I just can't get it on paper.
