Hey guys, just a quick question........
As I posted on here a few weeks ago, my Marshall JTM60 combo stopped working and I later found out that it was the power transformer that blew.
Would using a Boost pedal (such as a Fulltone Fat Boost) in the amps series FX loop have caused the Transformer damage over time?

Just picked it off ebay for $416.57. A few scratches and dings (not something that bothers me) and it's been played quite a bit. Fretwear wasn't mentioned, so it will possibly be rough... I wonder if that new Warmoth neck I bought off Hoss would fit it very well? One problem with that neck is that it's truss rod adjustment is at the heel and not near the nut. Oddly enough, it uses a flat head screw driver to adjust the tension, which makes adjusting it while on the guitar a sketchy proposition. I think I'll be sending that one off to a pro to set up and adjust if I go that route. I could also get the hamer neck refretted by a competent luthier or simply buy another neck. Anyone know a competent luthier in either NC or VA? I figure that the cost of a new neck wouldn't make this a terribly expensive Hamer and it would have precisely the neck I want then. The Warmoth neck is fantastic, except the truss rod adjustment...

They are built pretty solid, I love the knob placement, and they sounds like your amp is about to blow, your speakers are already blown, and your guiar is about to melt! There is NOTHING that I could tell you to go get that sounds close to one, and there are NO sound clips anywhere on the net that I know of...there is one on Ebay right now...it has a starting bid of $200.00 and a BIN of $350.00. I it helps you at all I have seen them go for as much as $500.00...which is just crazy! I actually hate the band....but Billy Corgan used a Fender Blender all over Melon Collie...the time when you can hear it the best is on Bullet with Butterfly wings...towards the end...it sounds like his amps is about to go...that's the Blender!

i was just checking out the boss pedals on ebay and saw a made in japan model going for $125 starting bid, are these really worth that much or is the guy just full of it?
$125 is too much...they do go for more that the MIT versions, but IMO thats WAY too much!
would you know what a good price to ask for a MIJ ds1?

Does anybody have the EVH in their bridge? Since there are no sound bytes i'm curious as to what it sounds like. I am thinking of grabbing this pickup any suggestions for a Neck pickup to mate with the EVH? I currently have a 59'er that i'm thinking of placing in the neck.
What guitar are you going to put them in? For the past couple days, I've been using an EVH/PG in a Les Paul, just to see if I like it. I borrowed the EVH another forum member, MRID. To me, it sounds like a Custom Custom with less output, but the same kind of sustain. I can see why it would be considered a VH pickup, since it's medium output, a smooth top, and it's very easy to play hammered licks because of the smooth sustain. I'd say it sounds like a cross between a 59B and CC.
I have a EVH neck in my Driskill. AFA production pickups go, I'd suggest the PG.

I've been listening to these discs back2back for the last day.
It seems that his tone on quot;Fresh Creamquot; has less mid-range attack. It's fuller and deeper. I especially love the solos in quot;Spoonfulquot; and quot;Sleepy Time Timequot;. Do you think he's playing through his neck pup, as it seems the tone is very bottom heavy. And how underrated is the solo in Sleepy? I heard that he was amazing playing it at the recent MSG shows.
What more can be said about quot;Beanoquot; (other than how bad Mayall's voice is!).
It seems EC's tone on this album definitely bites more with a mid-focus. Did we every find out whether he was using Alnico II's or V's? And do you think this tone (or Fresh Cream's) is attainable with an SG? I figure if you get Duncan '59's and raise the bridge pup you might be in the ballpark. Another idea I had was that the Seth Lover might deliver, but it seems that alot of people feel this Alnico type won't work well in an SG.

Hey guys!
I'm lookin for a shred guitar with a traditional look. My Parker just ain't flying at some gigs. I'm thinking a strat with a floyd is the way to go. I'm looking for suggestions, ideas, whatever. Doesn't have to be a Fender, but the more it looks like a strat or other classic guitar the better...

Well ladies and germs, the Tele is finally in! (Blasphemous of me, I am left without pics, but come New Years Eve I shall have pics for all!) If this couldn't be the best Christmas gift ever, then NOTHING can. It's perfect. Absolutely perfect, it surpasses perfection and greatness.
Alright, so enough kissing my guitar's ass.. Let's get down to the details.
As you may know by now, it's a Northern Hard Ash body, maple/ebony neck/fingerboard, dark transparent red finish. Beautiful. Floyd Rose, Sustainer, EMG Afterburner, and a Duncan Invader (of course!).
