I have always wonder this and have talked to several people about this. Will cables affect tone? I have played with my first $2 cable and then compared it to my quot;best cable out there salesman talkquot; Planet waves with on/off switch. I'm honest i can't here any difference in tone and about 8/10 people i have asked including all my musicteachers and playing friends say's this hype over cables is just bull.
Should i/we care about what cables we use or is it just to plug and play?
no questions asked, hands down YES!

This piggybacks off a previous thread, but I'm wondering how many of y'all out there have used a treble boost along with a Vox AC30 and what kinds of tones you're capable of achieving through your experimentation with various effects and/or settings.
I have Legendary Tones Time Machine Boost, which is really three boosts in one. Supposedly it is possible with this pedal (and the right equipment combinations) to achieve the Bluesbreakers, Brian May and Tony Iommi tones. Any experience with that?

Hey guys.
I was at band practise earlier and while I was playing, my Marshall JTM60 combo just cut out. The mains power was still there, it just lost all sound.
I looked around the back and 1 of what I believe to be the power valves was glowing immensely (more than the other power valves) and was extremely hot. So I turned the amp off, unplugged it and left it alone.

I just rewired my 2 humbucker 2 volume 1 tone Hamer to add a 500k push-pull pot on the bridge JB pickup for coil splitting.
Problem:
The two volume controls are functioning as tone controls, and in one switch position, so is the tone control. In the other bridge position, the tone is functioning as a tone (go figure!) control.
Any ideas on what's going on here? All was working properly just before I did this.

What are your thoughts on this amp head? 60w all tube ..
The head is goin for about $325 used, and im tempted to snag it .
how old? sounds ok to me, ive never used one but a 60w tube head for $300 seems decent

I've heard a lot about the Carl Martin PlexiTone, and I was wondering what it would be used for. Is it just an overdrive/distortion pedal? Or does it do more? Is it recommended?

Are the Classic Covers simply wax potted Seth Lovers? Or are they something else? If they are Seths, does the wax potting effect the tone? If something else how do they sound? I can't find them on the tone chart, or the Tone wizard.
Classic covers are just covered versions of other regular Duncans. Stock Classic covers usually include, JB, Jazz, C5, and some others. These are often shipped regularly with a cover. But a dealer can special order any pickup you want with a cover, even if it doesn't normally come with one. The cost is about $20 more than the uncovered version.

Hi i was wondering what the best option for pickups would be for my tele style guitar that im putting together its a ash body, with a allparts 22 jumbo fret maple neck with rosewood fret board. I am interested in the antiquity pups but cant decide what would be the best choice or if i should use two different pups for the neck and bridge instead of the two antiquity, the kind of music which it will be used for is rock, alternative, blues and softer styles of playing.

I like my Hwy 1 Tele better (especially the neck, which is a shock).
I love the V neck around the cowboy chords area. Feels better than the Tele, not as good as a les paul.

Alright, I have a strat with hotrails in the bridge, I absolutely love this pickup. It's got bite, edge, insane gain, everything I want. I recently bought a Gibson Flying V, and I love everything about the guitar except the pickups. They just arent as hot as I'd like. I was wondering if I could fit two hotrails in the bridge pickup slot and wire the guitar as so: bottom position is just the bottom hotrail, middle position is both hotrails in the bridge slot, and top position is the neck pickup. I think the two hotrails going full on at the same time would be nuts and hotter than if they were in seperate slots. Is this possible?

it can be done, but i dont think youll be able to use that switch and you might have to modify the guitar to get two hot rails in the slot for a bucker. to me it makes more sense to get an invader

Well ai have a Quiestion about wiring, I have a sh-6 bridge humbucker and a classic live wire single on the middle pos also and paf Joe on the neck, an a 5 way switch, i want to hace the original 5 factory sounds, but aldo the following bridge series/spli/parrallel/ phase
neck on
neck series/spli/parrallel/
I bought:2 on/on/on dpdt switches for the series/spli/parrallel/2 on/on dpdt switches for the neck on and bridge switches

a cheap- good quality randy rhoads v shaped guitar that will last me for a good amount of time
Jackson JS Series Rhoads is pretty affordable. They play pretty nice too...
