Pristine Clean: My gear stays in glass cases on my wall and are never/rarely played.
Touring Perfectionist: My gear stays in shockmounted racks/roadcases at all times when not in use and are in 100% new condition, only I or my techs can touch this gear.
Careful enough: My gear is usually kept clean and no beer near it. It mostly travels in cases and only me and my good buddies can touch it.

i did another random jam and posted it on sound click... the download hasn't cleared yet, but the lo-fi link works... from : localhost/streamer.soundclick.com/jerry... randomjam.mp3 Done with an epi les paul with a DiMarzio super distortion through a marshall mg50dfx... It was miced with a piss poor computer microphone, which explains the terrible quality... the microphone doesn't do the tone any justice.
comment on my playing! it was all random improvisation as usual, give me some constructive criticism!
best regards,

Short and simple, do these exist?

...and I LOVE it!!!! Its like brown sugar its dark and sweet. the mids are so smooth and the low notes just moan so sweetly and the high notes are just trebly enough but not overbearing (like my sh13 cleans). The dime in the bridge compliments it awesomely and gives it a nice mix of both worlds. I LOVE THIS PICKUP IN THE NECK. Am I the first to use this combo?

Okay ive been using my line6 dl4 delay stompbox for a while now since i got it and its been pretty good but i never really sat down and stuffed around with it too much, i just got a couple of delays and went with them...but now im not sure if they're as good as i could have them.
For starters i run it through my effects loop in my ENGL which is my main amp and run the loop signal totally wet, so the pedals and wah in front of the amp all run through the loop and through the delay...and my tone has been pretty good with it sofar. But i was wondering if this is a good way to use it, or if i should be finding more of a mid position of the effects loop mix and setting the delay differently on the delay unit...?
The reason i ask is that recently i went to my mates place to help him out with his rig and he is running a marshall rack preamp into a kittyhawk power amp and then into two 212 greenback cabs...and its a pretty massive sound! But for his delay he has a little boss sized digitech delay pedal which someone told him is the best on the market. But i was always saying how great the line6 dl4 is and he had heard similar things so he asked me to bring it over, then when we plugged it through his effects loop in the same way the digitech one was, it sounded really weird. Like distant and really processed, like it was taking heaps of the signal and chewing it all up and spitting crap back out!!! It sounded nothing like what my setup sounds like, and even when i put the loop mix of his preamp on full it sounded terrible, just all thin and small and digital. Where as the digitech one needed only about half the effects loop set for it and it sounded great!

Which would you choose for a boutique amp?
Why or how much do you really / actually know about the manufacturer and tone properties of the different capacitors?
Have you tried SoZos? I really like them. Savage amps here in MN recently made the switch because they like them so much. I tend to use Orange Drops for more experimenting because they have every value size you can imagine, which makes for easy tweaking beyond the norm. SoZo has a limited value range that are the traditional mustard values, I wish they had a few more sizes. That said I have them in a couple amps and find them to have nice warmth and a great open character. Having messed quite a bit with my old amps I have learned that every cap sounds different and as a result it is subject to the users ear.

I took a chance on this amp in an auction, anyone know anything about them? It's a tube amp.
I've got a crate Vintage club 50 watt amp with 2x12 config and it's a killer amp. Get some wonderful tones out of that thing!
I wasn't sure if it was quot;vintagequot;, or the name was Vintage Club 20. That's what I won though. What kind of tubes does it take?

Epi Lp.
I was thinking a jazz n, but how I like the '59. I'm not dead set on the '59, as I have one in another guitar.
I'm open to all suggestions. I just want to be sure because I am ordering this set this weekend.(from Blackrose Customs)
I really don't do much of both p'ups at once, so an aph-1 wouldn't be out of the question. Hmmmmmmmm.

I really love the guitar sound on the first few Saint Vitus albums. It's really heavy and fat, but it's not very distorted or gritty. It has kind of a smooth sound.
I wonder, in trying to achieve a sound like this, would it be better to go with a higher output humbucker, or a lower output humbucker?
The 500t/496r pair I have now gets too distorted/gritty when I add gain. It's the only humbuckers I really have much experience with though. Would a lower output humbucker, say like a 57 Classic Plus, be able to take more gain without getting too distorted/gritty? And when adding gain, would it get heavier and fatter while still maintaining a somewhat smooth sound?
