Hello, I just joined the club. I've been playing since the early 70's Old, Huh? Anyway I am about to put a set of 59's in an American Strat Texas Special. Why you ask? I just want to. I have my Duncans and am waiting on the pick guard. Has anyone tried this? If so how did it sound. I mostly play blues rock but am starting to get into heavier stuff, you know, show tunes. Seriosly, I have started to listen to some metal that I like and want to expand my musical horizons. Ya think this guitar config. will do it? Alan C.

made in 78' plays and functions flawlessly. the new re-issues are going for 150 and sound like crap compared to these originals. looking for interesting trade offers.

A few weeks ago I bought a JCM 800 4212 combo. It had a few problems so I took it right back to the shop to have it retubed with EL34's and cheked out. Anyway, I got the amp back yesterday and I noticed it sounds horrible at bedroom level. I cranked it up for a few minutes (before the neighbors could complain)and it was a totally different beast. It's got a master volume, so I figured it should have the same great tone at any volume. Do Marshall's have to be played loud to sound good?

If any of you guys have a EB or Peavey, Kramer etc guitars with just the single volume control tell me this.... how hard, if at all, is it to get used to just having a tone control with two buckers???

hi all as per my previous posts i finally picked up my lefty agile 3500 with jb/jazz combo. playing it in rondo vrs other guitars including agiles it definately has a sweeter and more resonant tone. plugging it into my little marshall mg15dfx it is actually to my ears about 30 % louder then my mex strat or my peavey predator plus, and it also just sounds better. so overall im very impressed. the one question i have has to do with the treble/rhythm switch. i read on this site several days ago that treble = bridge and rhythm = neck. so in my case treble should = jb and rhythm should = jazz correct? what i find strange is that i can where i can tell a big difference between the 2 settings, i have to really strain to hear the difference between the midde setting (what i assume to be equally using both treble and rhythm pickups) and the rhythm pickup. i would think the rhythm setting would sound a bit more bassy or lower then the quot;neutralquot; setting but again to my ears they are basically the same. is this normal and if not does anyone have any thoughts on why this might be so? since this is my first experience playing a les paul type i really dont know what is normal. thanks and look forward to some feedback.
