I’m finalizing the plans for my lap steel project. It should be warming up soon, so working in the shop will be easier, plus my father who is a better woodworker is just about recovered from his knee surgery and Shingles.

Any opinions on the tonepros stuff? Been thinking about putting them on my LP and was wondering if it would be worthwhile. Bridge? Tailpiece? Both?
Any thoughts/experience would be appreciated.

This guitar is in great condition with only a couple of scratches. The finish is a sweet satin black and has a maple neck with a 22-fret rosewood fretboard in a 25.5quot; scale. The action is set nice and low and plays really nice. The best part about this guitar is the set of pickups in it. Installed are EMG 60 (neck) and 81 (bridge) pickups which are some of the most sought after pickups on the market. They sound amazing, much better and hotter than I thought they would, but still very articulated and precise. The old humbuckers just couldn't cut it. Also installed are black Sperzel locking tuners. I have not found a set of tuners that I like better. These make stringing and tuning so much easier. This guitar comes with an LTD hardshell case made by TKL Cases. I am selling some of my gear to pay the bills and alas, this has to go. With all the upgrades, this is worth well over $500, but I'm letting it go for $320 to get the bills paid. I can't decide If I want to go with Pearly Gates or Alnico II Pro's. Leaning towards the PG's since the big mid is what I don't like about the Dragon II's.

I'm thinking about replacing my BurstBucker Pro pickups for and JB and a jazz in my Gibson Les Paul st. -04.

Has anyone ever used or heard these pickups before? I'm curious as to how they sound compared to Duncans, especially the JB and Custom (the Duncans I'm most familiar with). Thanks!

I read somewhere that Alnico II magnets weaken over time. Anyone have insight into this? I'm thinking about purchasing a Custom Custom but I don't want the magnet to weaken, that would suck. I have another question about the Custom Custom pickup...is it an articulate pickup? I mean are notes defined under heavy distortion, or do they mush? I figured since it's a lower output pickup that it would be more defined, this is what my mind is telling me anyway.
