sound in a Mexi-Tele?

hi dudes.... i aint very happy with the pups on the guitar after a month or so of having installed them
(the duncans that appears on the guitar were the first ones i had on the guitar....did not like them neither...they were the parrallel axis distortion trembucker and a Jazz)

My buddy Mark Meyer, a terrific guitarist here in the Boulder/Denver area, brought me his '75 Fender Strat to see if it could be improved. This is a hardtail Strat, no vibrato, and made from very HEAVY alder. The stock '75 Strat pickups from this period are a little weak, and were very bright and thin sounding in this particular guitar.

Well... i think i am slowly turning back into a metalhead lol, I realized this while i was playing Into The Void - Black Sabbath, which is one of the greatest songs ever... Anyways, maybe i am not becoming a metal head again, maybe i just want to play sabbath... All the time..., anyways can anyone recommend some bands anything like sabbath?.

I have decided to to change all my 3 single coil pups in my strat guitar and the bridge is already decided. i'm gettin a jb for it. I would just like to know if anyone has tried a jb in the bridge and a demin in the neck.How is it like. If not can you please recommend me a neck and middle pup to go with the jb. The type of music i play is rock music in general.Thanks people.

Hey, I need to know if this is an inclosed amp or an open amp. What are the difference in the both, sound wise, and without stating the obvious...*cough* open or closed in the back *cough*. Thanks again guys.

so, I was talking to a guy the other day that mentioned that using metal humbucking rings, as opposed to plastic, can change your sound. I can see this being the case, since the pickup is suspended from these rings, and the vibrations from the body have to to go through it to get to the pickup to quot;sweetenquot; the tone. but on the other hand, how much difference can it make? anybody?

If so what do you think of it???

Would someone be so kind as to clue me into what the deal is on these 70's(?) gibby(?) pups w/ the black vinyl(?) backs?
