Can anyone tell me how to do a lookup of a fiscal year with a given date?

It depends when your fiscal year begins. If the 2006 fiscal year began
on June 1st 2005 then your fiscal year is effectively running 7 months
ahead of the actual year so

=YEAR(A1) (MONTH(A1)gt;5)

will give your the fiscal year when A1 contains your date, e.g.
9/9/2005 gives 2006--
