I have a proble with the links on a spreadsheet. The sheet gets some data
from other excel sheets and the problem is that on one computer it works fine
but on the other computer it asks everytime when you open the spreadsheet to
reconnect the broken links. What the problem is that i found was that the
files are in a different folder than where it points. I tried going through
every link and rebuild the links, saved it but when i reopen it, i get the
same error.

Any help in regards to this matter would be greatly appreciated.

Alin

A few things to check come to mind.

1. Since different computers are involved, are the files on a file
server so that the same file is being accessed by both computers?

2. Are there differences in mapped drive letters? Is the drive and
directory path exactly the same for both?

3. If the files are not on a file server, but are being transferred
between computers via e-mail or some other method, again are the drive
and directory path the same on both computers.

4. Are both versions of Excel the same? You're not trying to read a
file created with the latest version using Excel 95, I presume.--

2. The mapped drive letters are the same. There is a problem with the
directory and here is where the issue is, i tried to recreate the links
but excel still does not find them even after you save the changes and
exit. Once the spreadsheet is opened again it will try to recreate the
link as if nothing was saved previously. What i did i tried putting a
copy of the folder in the requested destination but the same issue
persists.

3 is not applicable

4. I am using MS Office 2000 on both workstations.

Thank you very much for your help--
