I recently re organised my files.
Opened excel
Went to Tools Options to make some changes
Excel came back with

Cannot access directory c:\Data File\2006

Why can't I change any of my settings?
even in new files that has no data?

Do you have a c:\data file\2006 folder?

It might be easiest to just create that (dummy) folder. Then go into excel and
make your changes.

I'm guessing that you have something in that tools|options that points to that
folder--maybe alternate start up folder or autorecovery folder???
