Hi All,

I am having trouble opening an excel file. When I go to open it either
by selecting it through the open file menu or double clicking it, the
file opens but the worksheets don't appear. I know it has opened as
the file name is in the menu under quot;windowquot;. Also it is possible to
see the contents of the last cell which was selected as it appears in
the formula bar at the top. The only trouble is the actual worksheets
don't appear in the main window!!

Any ideas on how to fix this? I am using Excel 2000

Many thanks in advance

GW--

Thanks but I've tried the Unhide option, nothing is hidden. As I say,
if I pick a cell using the name box I can see the contents of that cell
in the formua bar, I just can't see the worksheet in the main window.--

View this thread: www.excelforum.com/showthread...hreadid=526775Do you see a worksheet tab at the bottom of the main window?

Will the file open normally on another computer?

Can you open other files normally on this computer?

Do you see Column Letters and Row Numbers? but just a gray field with no
cells defined?....if so try View gt; Normal

With security set to low, does the file require you to authorize
macros?...if so try opening without doing it.

I actually just found this problem when I was trying to solve a different
issue and know it was created by checking both the quot;Ignore other
applicationsquot; and quot;Windows in taskbarquot; options at the same time. I'm
funning Office Small business 2000 with Powerpoint 2003.

then unchecking them. Thanks for the suggestion.--
