I am using MS Excel 2002, but of recent when i enter a figure (number)
it either cuts it or changes to decimal points automatically.
Example: When I enter 7000000 changes it to 7000, when I enter 4020
changes it to 4.20 and when I enter 23% changes to 350%.
What could be problem? andthe solution

uncheck Fixed Decimal places
This is used when someone wants to do a lot of data entry, but doesn't want to
type the decimal point.
Although, I'm confused about 23% changing to 350%.

Solution: Tools | Options; open Edit tab; uncheck Fixed Decimal
I hope you had a few typos in the message:
7000000 changes it to 7000 (ok)
4020 changes it to 4.20 (do you mean 4.02%)
23% changes to 350% (this is mystery - has someone played with
Autocorrect?)
best wishes
