At Guitar Center of all places. A 1955 Fender Deluxe (reverb I think). Old timey lacquered tweed, very well worn, ragged in places....looked like it had seen a thousand smokey bars and been tossed in the back of countless cars. It would look killer sitting in the corner of your guitar room with a beat up sunburst strat leaning against it.

I didn't play it long, but what sweet clean tone. Just to die for. It looked to have the original Jensen speaker, but it was very well worn. Smooth, smooth smooth. The price tag was $2600, but they could probably be talked down a few hundred for a serious buyer.

Talk about vintage and blusey. This is the real deal.

no reverb back then. welcome to the wonderful world of tweed...

Thanks for the clarification on the 'verb Scott. The tag just said Deluxe, and I didn't really even think to look for a reverb knob.

Man, that old lacquered tweed that is now 50 years old sure is beautiful. Nice dark amber color. You could just feel the mojo dripping from that thing. $2300 or so is probably a fair price if everything was original. It just kind of made the hair on the back of my neck stand up.

did it look kinda like this?
Jeff, there is nothing in the world like the older Fender's....( I have quite a few of them)..... pure tone!

Oh that's just so wrong Gary. Yeah.....that's it.

The tweed on this one was much darker, and more ragged on the top edges....frayed ends sticking out everywhere. I just looked like that classic blues amp that had been gigged for 50 years.

What year it the on in the pic?
