First off, I'm one of those screaming lunatics who wants the 10K PAF. Don't tell me about the S-Deco or any other CS offerings because I don't want to pay CS prices. It seems that there is a war brewing between guys like me, and the guys who are annoyed by guys like me (and Evan is definately on your side).

I've seen some threads get hijacked by the 10K PAF Militia. Ok, I'm guilty of it myself but will no longer do so. I meant no ill will, I was just trying to express my opinion. But to the censors who are quot;annoyedquot; by the subject--Lighten up! It's a fricken' pickup forum! You treat the subject like it's serious as cancer. We have the right to post our maniacal opinions as do you...don't like it? THEN DON'T READ IT!!!

Yes, the 10K PAF is a dead issue. Evan has spoken, and his word is law. I don't like it, but I was done with the subject. (Well...until I read the glowing pickup thread.) That chapped my a$$ a little. I guess I'm just the type of guy who cares more about tone than the color of my pickup bobbins.

What can we do? I say we because I like to side with the maniacs and you know that if Demarzio does one, everyone will want one and you can bet DM will pull some stunt so SD can't.

I don't know, LSP. Duncan pickups are the best, but we got no love. I'm going to try the '59/Custom hybrid and see what that does for me. I'm not ready to go to the darkside (DiMarzio) yet, but their Virtual Hot PAFs do sound interesting.

What about a Dimarzio FRED? I love mine and its like 10K

I am a loyal Duncan user and will exhaust all other options first. The 59/Custom hybrid is my next pickup.

I'm too poor for Custom Shop anything. That's why I showed up to UGD, to make my own! As a matter of fact, Jolly's UGD pickup was the exact pickup you're talking about. Eh...I said my piece. I wouldn't air dirty laundry though, if that is what you are doing.

Not sure what happened, but it might be better to just let it be.

Calm down a little and continue being part of the SD community.

Hey, I got my 10k PAF for free. I just went to the user group conference in Santa Barbara this year. I got to help put together my very own SDeco2. Gotta say, it does rule in my LP. Sorry that people are bent about it. The reality is though, if you have a $1000 guitar isn't it worth $150 to make it sound exactly the way that you want it to? Standing on this side of the fence, now that I have heard the tone, I'd pay out my own hard-earned cash to replace this pup if it went sour. Buy one, you'll not be disappointed.
