I'll drool if I want to.

I'm not much help on teles, so I'll leave this to the others. It looks really nice, though.

I think it is an Esquire. I would take it to an appraiser, looks old.

No serial number anywhere? There are no markings on the headstock, so that leads me to beleive it's aftermarket. Unless there is a number on the neck plate, I would think it was built from parts. Does that bridge say Fender?

arent the first teles that had no markings called 'nocastersquot; or something?

but the one pickup thing.....

I thought they still said quot;Fenderquot; - just no model name.

It's got a six-saddle bridge. I doubt it is '50s Fender, it's not chewed up enough. If it is, someone REALLY screwed up! I don't see anything there that tells me it is a Fender.

the serial numbers are supposed to be on the bridge-plate on esquires

hate to tell ya...if you want real information, that neck has to come off....you've got to see if the neck is marked as a fender and if hte body is marked as a fender...because without knowing those two things, you can't find anything out about this thing

Well, there's nothing there to say it's a Fender, or vintage for that matter. They probably wouldnt fetch much for it on ebay since there's nothing there to verify anything about it. give 'em 300 and a big hug.

incorrect...those electronics are OLD...I'd say at least the 70's...and those are some old school kluson tuners, and don't look like reissues

A parts guitar is a parts guitar...even if it's old, it's not going to be worth a whole lot. I don't see anything that tells me it's not a project guitar.

what I mean to say was there's nothing about the guitar to say that it's of original vintage. Those electronics could've been found at a flea market, the tuners could've been scuffed up with steel wool and had a little of whatever acid's used on 'em to make 'em age. I know what I'm talking about, I just dont have the vocabulary or the want to sit here and type it out.

Aloicious?

Six saddle bridge, reflective black pickguard, one replaced Kluson, big ol' electolytic caps... Your guess is as good as mine. I'd guess parts, but the parts that were replaced are kind of like 'upgrades' and replacing broken parts...

Yeah I didn't notice that first tuner right off the bat...though it was the light or something. That is deffinately newer.

I am not trying to realy get it appraised, merely trying to find someone who knows enough about vintage Teles that might chip in... The 1st String tuner has been replaced, no secret there... Also, I replaced the original volume pot with a CTS, as the original would only play if you lifted up on the knob... I have the old one, for what it's worth...

I have taken the axe apart with the owner's permission, of course, and have discovered some VERY useful info....

The markings in the neck pocket are written in pencil and covered in some transparent red stuff... The most predominant marking would be the date: 8-5-52... There is also quot;#3quot; written, the initials quot;CDquot;, and the name quot;Davisquot; present

The neck itself has some ilegible scribbling on it, kinda like cursive intials...

THe neckplate has no markings

The bridgeplate has no markings underside and is siply stampe quot;FENDERquot; on the top...

One angle of Neck CavityThe opposite angle of neck cavityThe back of the neck at socketA better pic of the tunersOh yeah, thanks for the articulate reply, Beandip!!! LOL!!!

Thanks again for looking,
Allen
