I was jamming with the team on saturday and i decided to put up the treble plenty high on my bandmaster with the bright switch on. Man that thing sounded amazing, but the bright switch made it a little too ice picky.
How can i find a happy medium on capacitance value of the bright switch of a BF amp? It's stock, I love the tone, but if i can keep that treble knob up high with less ice pickiness, the tone is heavenly.
i might also go lower on the value for the tone pot of my strat, just so i can roll off the very top of the treble that is making it a little harsh.
what are your typical settings? i tend to like bright switch off, treble around 8/9 for buckers/6 for singles, mids around 6 or 8, bass around 4.
i like a .015 cap in a guitar
my typical settings are 3 on bass, (no mid knob), 6.5-7 on treble, tone knob on my strat at about 7. Bright switch ON. cap on my strat is .022, i will be dropping that to a .015-.011 just for extreme high roll off.
treble is usually my volume control, the higher i put it, the more i cut into the mix.
