I was just playing an epiphone les paul '56 gold top and was very impressed. I've also been looking at the agile AL-2500 Gold Top, but since there only sold by rondo music I haven't been able to play one.
Basicly I've been looking for is a gold top (preferably les paul body stlye) with P-90s. I want it to have either a set neck or neck-thru construction.
I'm going to change the pups at some point, so I don'yt really care if there crap.
Which one do you think is the most like a gibby les paul. I'm leaning toward the Agile because it's alittle cheaper, but since there aren't any around hear I can't try one out. So if you've played an Agile les paul please let me know what you thought of it compared to an epiphone and gibson.
Thank in advance
I've never played an Agile, either. But there are several people here that say they're great little guitars. They'll probably be able to help you more.

Niether really, the Epi is mahogany laminate with an alder top and mahogany neck. The Agile is solid (but heavy) mahogany body, mahogany top, and a maple neck. Personally I'd go for the Agile if for nothing else value. The Epi costs more than twice as much with an average sticker price of $599. You could dang near get a real Gibson Les Paul studio (used) for that.
yeah i love agiles, but they're not like gibsons (good imo)

Is the neck contour and radius on an Agile the same as a gibson.

Feels very similar to me, more so than other Korean guitars I've owned/played like Ltd.

Bump up to the Agile 3000. Mahogany neck ebony board. $369. worth every penny
the closest you'll ever get to a real Gibson Les Paul, is the Epiphone Elitist Les Paul Standard Plus. I absolutely love mine. I would take my epi over a gibby studio any day. Awesome guitar man, i love mine
I've got an Agile 2500 goldtop and I love it. I threw some phat cats in her and she sounds incredible. Great bang for the buck. Rondo has an excellent return policy. Buy one and if you don't like it send it back. If there is something wrong with it they'll even refund your return shipping. I know because I returned a TV Yellow Jr. that just wasn't up to snuff.

Agile.
OK, I have had a couple of AL-2500's and done a ton of research and talked to Kurt a whole bunch (Rondo). Here's the scoop on these vs. Epi...
The AL-2500 vs. Epi LP is not a fair comparison - although the AL-2500 is a great guitar - when you consider the Epi's price, I think the AL-3000 or AL-3000M are more in line price wise and when you compare those to the Epi, even the Epi LP Custom, the Agile blows it out of the water in every way IMHO.
Also, the customer service I have recieved from Rondo is exceptional! I have no relationship to them other than being a satisfied customer. FWIW, I bought 2 2500's from Kurt, an AL (LP style) and an AD (DC style) and they were both great for the price (that should be the AL-2500 moniker btw...) but I want something better so I emailed Kurt and he let me return both and as soon as the dust settles I am going to grab myself an AL-3000 Prestige. Again, a great guitar for the money but in this case, a great guitar for even twice the cost. MHO of course.
BTW, the necks on the two 2500's I had were GREAT!! Flatter radius than a Gibson LP, more like an ESP, very playable
Peace -Frank
i played a Dillion Lp Goldtop last weekend and it was as nice as any epi i've ever played!!! i've yet to get my hands on an Agile though!?
