Ok I was going to buy the C-1 FR, but you guys scared me away from the FR.
What's the difference between
the C-1 Blackjack, from : localhost/the C-1 EX Baritone Blackjack? from : localhost/the EX Baritone just have a heavier sound for harder music?
Assuming that's the case, what do you guys think about the first one? $600 seems like a pretty good deal considering it comes with a JB and '59. I don't play live, but I do play mostly heavier stuff. However, my amp is already too bassy, so it seems like a good idea to stay away from the Baritone one. What do you guys think about the C-1 Blackjack....reviews?
Thanks bros.
hey if they scared u on the Floyd rose part dont worry, i got me a new jackson with one and its not too hard
and the baritone has a longer scale so it can handle lower tunings with thicker strings
Baritone is actually tuned lower.
Yeah, baritone is traditionally B to B instead of E to E, but you can really use any tuning you want on em. with a 26.5quot; scale, It'd probably be well suited for any tuning between B and D standard. quot;Aquot; might be a tad bit low, gotta keep tension on those strings so they dont get all floppy, but i suppose with the right set of strings you could.
If you're not thinkin of using it for lower tunings, just stick with the standard model.
Didn't mean to scare you on the floyd thing, my point is basically this. If you DONT need a floyd, then getting one will be nothing but a pain, however if you think you will use the floyd alot, then there really is no substitute. In the last thread i didn't realise you had two guitars without floyds and wanted something different, getting one with a floyd simply means you would have to spend a bit more time learning how to use one, and extra sime on set-ups and string changes. If you think you will use a floyd, go for it, theres plenty on info here to show you how to get the best out of it.
The only reason i picked up on the floyd issue is my main guitar has a floyd, and for my style of music is is rarely, if ever used, and it simply makes set ups and string changes alot more time consuming than other guitars.
Both the blackjack and the FR look like great guitars, unless you need lower tunings i wouldn't go for the baritone though.
That isn't really much of a baritone scale imo, it's more like an extended standard (hence the EX I guess) and would be usable as a regular tuning too...
Anyway, unless you really think you'd like the extra tension I'd suggest getting a standard scale (25.5) instead since I don't know how well you'd adjust. I for one, can pick up any guitar scaled and within about 5 minutes play just as well on any of them but after about a month of playing time I got a 7 string too...soo I think that's just me since some of my friends can't play it...why am I saying this...
get the C-1, or try the 006 blackjack...well, I think it's more comfortable.
If you want a Floyd, get the guitar you want. As long as they're set up properly, they function flawlessly. If I were in the market for an imported Schecter, it'd be the C-1 Exotic......the satin finished flametop.
HA! Scared of a Floyd Rose! LOL that's funniest thing I've read today.
1 on the 006 blackjack I own a 006 its the most comfortable guitar ever.
*sigh* i'm sorry you feel that way man. i'm sure you and a floyd would go along great. if you decided you didnt like it in the end after all, it wouldnt be hard selling the guitar at all IMO
but it's your choice and i cannot force you (****** WHY NOT!!! GET A C1FR ******! lol)
all the other guys covered the rest pretty much
If you don't have a Floyd, you really have no reason to 'fear' it. I have a floyd equipped guitar, and a couple Wilkinson's. I prefer the wilkinson style tremolo. You should definitely experiment with it. You might be holding yourself back by not trying it.
My first axe was a strat, and I was dive-bombing all over the place with that thing.
thanks, prob gonna get the fr
C-1 Classic is my favorite Schecter, I just love it. I personally own an 006 Blackjack and that guitar is so utterly comfortable I am amazed whenever I play it. I also like the C-1 Blackjack but the 006 is my favorite of the two. I personally wouldn't get the C1FR because the other options have duncans. Unless you really want a Floyd that is, in that case get the FR. You can't go wrong with any Schecter in my opinion so get whatever appeals to you.
