Would the 1 meg pot give the neck some more brightness and sound a little more like the bridge but fatter? I thought maybe running 2 independant volumes insted of volume, tone.
You'd get more treble out of it to be sure -- but it would never sound anything like a bridge pickup. It's just sitting under the wrong part of the string. It would just sound like a really bright neck pu when dimed.
You could also put in a push/pull pot with a normal (250k or 500k) rating so you could bypass the volume pot entirely by pulling the knob up. Bypassing the volume pot (and thereby the tone pot) would give you even more treble than a 1 meg pot. This way if you like both sounds, you HAVE both sounds...
