I had previously planned to purchase a SH-2 Jazz for the neck and a SH-10 Full Shred for my future esven string guitar. I'd just like to make sure that these pickups would work well in the wood of the guitar. I'll mostly likely end up going for a koa body with a quilted maple top, and a 5 piece maple/koa neck. So would those pickups work well in such a guitar?
If it makes any difference i'd be using it for jazz, funk, 70s prog rock type stuff, and metal. Everything basically :P
Reverie, sounds like a nice guitar! I'm not familiar with the characteristics of Koa, but I can't imagine a guitar where the jazz would sound bad in the neck slot! I love the jazz, it gives you great clarity in the neck slot.
The full shred I haven't had experience with so I'll wait for someone else to post. All I know is it is supposed to sound clear regardless of the gain level.
Welcome to the Forum!
