I have a Fender Custom shop Showmaster with HSS. SD TB4 JB in bridge and Fender Custom Shop Fat 50s in mid and neck. I went o an amp shop today with my guitar to hear it with a hot rodded Marshall. I found out it wasn't my amp. The SD TB4 in the bridge paled to his Gibson Les Paul Classic. The Classic has the Gibson 496R Hot ceramic humbuckers that are super hot. Looking at the chart it seems the SD Distortion Trembucker may be the closest. The Distortion Trembucker is SDs hottest pickup which worries me. The TB4 is close to 2nd hottest pickup. I am worried that this gutar just isn't going to cut it for Van Halen and such. Any suggestions?
Thanks
Don't let yourself fool by this fast experience , hotness of a p-u doesn't mean that the tone is good , it can be impressive at first but overbearing after a while .
I have JB installed in my fender american deluxe fat strat HSS,, my JB is not the TB4 which is trembucker,, mine is SH4, I discovered that my fender bridge stock pickup is a trembucker,, (so I did a little bit modification on the pickguard) IMO JB can give you van halen kind of sound, because when I lowered my gitar volume to 3 or 4 it can sound like van halen distorsion/overdrive,,
