Hello all:
I recently decided to refurbish my 1980's era charvel. I plan on going with the Distortion Bridge (trembucker) and Jazz neck. What single coil would you suggest?? I will be using a 5-way toggle, and so far dont plan on any fancy coil split stuff.
Other details - basswood body (I think) Maple Neck, usually played through an early 80's JCM800. As you probably already gathered, this was and will be my 80's metal axe!!!
I was considering the Quarter Pounder and Twangbanger BTW, but would like to hear from others.

No opinions? Anyone?
Help out an old metal-head! :-)

Maybe a JB Jr... but it's a Humbucker in SC format though...
Vintage rails. You get the single coil sound and no hum to go along with the other humbuckers.
Also, if you decide to go with the Quarter Pound, (one of my favorites), you may want to spend the little extra to get the quot;tappedquot; version. I know you said you don't want to do anything fancy, but later on, you might. Just add one push/pull pot, or a switch, and you add three more distinctly different sounds.
The tapped singles, are truly two-pickups-in-one.
