I need a Bridge Tele pickup, My neck pickup is STR-1 Vintage 54... The one that i need in bridge position should have the both worlds... twang of a tele and a strong sound when i need.. and i prefer it hum-canceling..
Now i use Jb Jr in bridge with 500K pots and those pots make STR-1 very ugly sounding... I tried to put 047uf cap between the hot wire os STR-1 and switch.. it happened.. it balanced the sound but the switching makes a strange bass overload noise just for a milisecond because of the cap
What would be your advice? ; hum cancelling tele bridge, could be mini size humbucker, should fit with STR-1 in taste when i use them together..
Any ideas?.. Guitar is Alder fretboard is rosewood..
I covered this a bit in another thread, and I hope to cover it in more detail shortly, but if your JB Jr is 4-wire, you can place that cap between the red and white wires and get the same result without the anomalies.
I used .01uf in mine, but thats with a 59. Anyway, just thought I'd mention that. It might work for you.

Now the red and white are occupied to split the coil also.. I am confused
What would be your choosing? a Tele bridge, without hum and giving the classic TELE sound but a little bit hotter.. it could be another trademark also?
Thanks
Consider a GFS Lil' Puncher or Lil' HOT Puncher. I have the HOT and it's clear and powerfull with a bit of twang and it splits nicely. GFS are only sold on E-bay.

Putting the cap in the red/white wires of the JB Jr serves to illustrate that I don't always read posts thoroughly.
Sorry 'bout that.
I've been on the verge of asking this exact question, just in a slightly different context. Searchedsof older posts haven't yielded much, at least with the search terms I've tried.
I too am looking for a good humcancelling Tele bridge pickup. I don't want the hotness so much, though. I'd rather have a low output, nice clear sound. The Vintage Stack for Tele from SD is a contender, but I'm curious if there are some potentially better options out there. The only other one I've heard is Dimarzio's Virtual T and I was left WHOLLY unimpressed with it.
i really like my vintage stack for tele set (n b) .. they are dead quiet and sound exactly like one would want them to ... they are plenty hot and clear .. twangy when needed ... gritty when needed .. warm when needed ... the 4-way switching makes them that much more versatile ... i really am happy with them ... just simple, solid, tone makers ... no 'personality' of their own, per se .. just let the personaility of the tele come out .. without hum
highly recommend
