Now, you guys know me pretty well by now; I wouldn't waste your time directing you to a site if I didn't deem it a case of Bizarro World gone awry. I led you to the 1960 LP standard with a 60s SG neck added on by Gibson and missing parts going for $65K, and we agreed-- it was total madness (by the way, it sold).
But this:

If these guitars in the early 70s were so much better, why part it out? He's selling all the parts. Nearly $500 for the pots...
A grand for 70s pickups. That's what I'm looking at. Year is irrelevant as later years are sure to follow.
Well, my old scalloped Strat is looking better than the stock market every day.
....thats rediculous
who would want those things anyway???
I haven't viewed the auction, however...
I got a feeling it's someone who's taking advantage of the people who don't know the difference between quot;vintagequot; and quot;old.quot;
That's just being greedy.If they sell at that price the buyer wants to be shot.
He's got more than one item like that... We should keep an eye on it to see if anybody pays that kind of money for this stuff... We can then track down the buyer and pull his toenails out with a pair of rusty pliers... It would be less painful...
Look what he said...
THESE ARE $10,000 NOW DAYS
Hohoho!

Wow! It's quotable.
Well, that's one of the key talking points these days (BUY NOW! THEY'RE SELLING FAST! PRICES KEEP GOING UP! [thanks to guys like him]), but to be fair, he was probably referring to the guitar itself-- but then again, he really left it open ended.
From what I've seen at guitar shows, a lot of venders have priced themselves out of the range of the economically prudent. I guess it's easier to sell parts that, in relative terms, are cheaper to purchase than the entire instrument.
That seller and the people that buys his stuff are retarded!!!!!!
