from : localhost/EMG's and all, too! If I had the cash, I'd grab this!

Nice!

That's a lot of guitar for $600! Les Paul Customs are among the best playing and sounding Gibsons, and these Epi's can be setup to play like butter too.
At least they're giving you black hardware and high end pickups. I'd probably put in black/white Duncan CC/PGn, if I had it.

very cool...when i first saw it the other day i thought it would make a perfect drop tuned (drop D, drop C) guitar with the stock EMGs and some THICK strings!!

I wish sometimes i could order stuff from Musicians friend..... By the time us Canadians buy the thing, add shipping, add exchange rate, and add Duty tax.... It is cheaper for us to buy locally...

On the other end of the scale...

I dont care if it has been quot;agedquot; the thing had better be plated with 24k gold and be full of cash.

Who in there right mind, besides McCartney himself maybe, would buy this thing? Who the heck even thought of it at Epi?

I played one. Not worth the money in my opinion. I didn't find it to be all great

Rosewood is not the color of midnight

is ebony the color ?
and 40 grand are they nuts? what the heck?

F that guitar, you can get the Jackson DKMGT for 350 bucks in Cobalt Blue: from : localhost/www.musiciansfriend.com/srs7/...se_pid/511579/

I've seen that deal already, and I'm interested. Too bad I don't have the cash to throw around right now.

Probably made in china pos.

MIC Epi's are pretty damn solid. Every one I played was very consistant. Much better than MIK (Korea). Since this Custom is pretty new, there's a good chance it is MIC. Don't knock 'em until you try them. If you go in expecting it to sound like a $2000 guitar, you'll be sorely disappointed. If you go in expecting it to sound like a $600 guitar, you'll be mightily surprised.

I don't know man. I have pretty high expectations for a $600 instrument, maybe because I remember the days when you could get a new American Std. Strat or Tele for about $600. I *think* I paid $600 or $700 for my brand-new 100% American made Hamer in 1994. That axe is still in the arsenal and gets used all the time and it really holds up to new $2K guitars and kills most 'of 'em. My second pick at the time was a PRS EG and that wasn't too much more and those have only gone up in value! That was what...1994 or '95? Not all that long ago...

I do too, but not $2000 worth of expectations. I know that there will be some flaws here and there. Back in 1994 I bought my USA Strat brand new for $499, listed for $900 back then. It still had some flaws. The pickups are weak as hell for one, the setup was questionable but otherwise a solid axe.

When I went LP hunting, I knew I was going to get an Epi. I couldn't afford a Gibson and didn't find any good used ones around anywhere when I first started looking, except one that sold real fast. I used to sell them so I knew what I was looking for and what to expect. When I picked up the MIC models, I was floored at how well they are made and the sound is there. Mine resonates really well and has killer tone. I don't care of it can kill a $2000 Standard or not. I just want it to play well and sound good for what I paid for it. If I buy a $3000 Custom, that thing better sing like no other and play like butter.

It's a matter of going in with the right frame of mind with the price range that's being looked at. Yes, some are better than others, I agree, but for the price, the MIC's are good guitars.
