I saw these at guitar center today right when I walked in. I have never seen them before, they're blone with a gold faceplate. Small tube amps, look just like the 50s, etc. I asked an employee if they used a tube rectifier, and he said they did. I thought, sweet! 8 watt tube amp with a tube recto and a 10quot; speaker! Perfect! I asked him how much they were becuase there wasn't a price tag... he walked off and I never saw him again. I didn't even get to play through it.

So, I looked on Music123 and they're not on there. Looked on the Crate site, couldn't find them. Anybody else seen these?

i have a crate vc 3112, it may be similar to what ur talking about.

mine is NOT tube rectified btw, but it is an all tube amp. if this is it, feel free to ask away or pm for more....

mine IS about 10 years old, i bought it used for around 250-350 (i forget) either last year or two years ago (again forget). As for sound, a few of us on the forum have one of the crate v-series amps. The best way to describe them, fender cleans, marshall gains, 1 amp. They are totally killer, amazing amps that sound great, and a few others can back me up on that.

Nah, these looked JUST like the 15's and 50's only with different numbers and were blonde.

I saw em on Tuesday, intrigued me as well. Never played through one, but they had a 179 pricetag on it, leading me to think that it wasn't tube, and keeping me from playing through it at all.

On the other hand, the Vox AD15 Valvetronix almost kicked more ass than my ears could handle, and it was 179 as well.

Well... played it. Sucked. Piece of sh*t... If you ever think a Crate amp MIGHT just sound good... think again.

Actually I played a 50 awhile back, and it sounded awesome with an old strat... But these things suck. I cranked it, and it sounds like the speaker could barely handled it (like a blown speaker almost). It did use a SS recto, so no tube distortion really... just a speaker being pushed too hard.

Try the V-series tube combos. A friend of mine was over again today and AGAIN he commented on how my crate combo sounds better than his Marshall DSL 50 head.
