How does Billy Gibbons get that tastey sound for the solo sections of quot;La Grangequot; (besides using a Mexican Peso as a pick and being Billy Gibbons)? I'm talking guitar, amp and everything in between.
One of y'all must know how he does it.
Wouldn't mind knowing how he's getting that overdriven rhythm part either.

Strat through an old cranked up 57 Fender Tweed Deluxe amp....The strat that Hendrix gave Billy...From what I've read? You never quot;reallyquot; know what Billy used or uses though?
The gear that Billy Gibbons uses is literally all over the map. If you dont believe me do a search for my quot;Cheap Sunglassesquot; thread and give it a good read.

Low output 'buckers and poweramp distortion.

Well said. For me, it's all in fingerpicking the intro/main riff properly.
