I found a Marshall VS100 head for dirt cheap. We're talking under ten bucks. Of course, there's a catch. The preamp doesn't work. The owner says they took it to a repair shop and they estimated it would be around $90 with labor. The owner also said they had this problem before. The head also doesn't come with a footswitch. So, I'm wondering, would this be worth buying?

Under ten bucks? I'd buy it just for decoration lol.

I spend $10 every 2 days on cigarettes. Any amp for that price is worth it.

Buy it. Period.

Even if it only becomes your quot;stunt ampquot;.

It's a great metal amp....it's got the tonal shape of a Marshall, but the ultra-fast response and quot;sterilenessquot; (made-up word) of a solid-state amp. For $100 total, I'd buy it, buy it, buy it.

Even if you only play it twice a month. Divide the price you pay by the next few years......you'll soon find it very satisfying, regardless of your musical style.

You could always just use the amp section, for 10 bucks hell yes.

How would I do that?

Yes yes, absolutely buy it!

Just screw the preamp and put a pod or similar into the effect return.
They sound better like that anyway IMO than with the amps preamp.

Any Marshall head is worth 100 bucks, even a Valvestate....you should be shot for having to ask

can i buy it?
