My Marshall AVT50 Combo crapped out on me a few days ago. The power goes on but there's no sound. I know absolutely nothing about amps, but I do know this one isn't that great. Since it needs to get fixed anyway, can I mod it somehow so it doesn't sound like ass anymore? From what I've read, the Marshall AVT 50 isn't gig-worthy, and I'd like to make it gig-worthy. I don't have $1000 to spend on a new amp so I'd like to do all I can with this one.

to put it simply, no.

first i'd check the obvious things like making sure the speaker didn't get disconnected somehow, or maybe popping it open and making sure the connections for the input jack are still intact. if the problem turns out to be more in-depth, i'd save up for a better amp.

I had a similar problem with an old generation marshall valvestate. It started to buzz more and more and one day, only buzzing, stayed, and no more sound from the guitar.

Do you have absolutely no sound at all or something like my problem. If it's similar, I just had a tech to change a few pots and the jack. It wasn't really expansive. But personnally I enjoy the sound of this amp, so I don't if it would be worth it for you???

Hope it can help.

It can probably be repaired, however i'm not too sure how many mods there are available for valvestate amps...i suspect few to none.

Is my AVT gonna end up that way,the buzzing does seem to get loader everday.
