Guys, I installed four 500-520k CTS pots, one .022 Hovland, one .022 Mallory in my LP and am using standard LP wiring. Any thoughts on going to a set up that will disconnect the cap or tone pot - I hear this really opens up the tone with pickups wound 14 - 17k?
Thanks guys!
PS
I've seen descriptions of a quot;nail polish modquot; at the LPF. It involves putting nail polish on the end of the track inside the tone pot so that the track is disconnected when the tone knob is at 10. I guess it achieves the same as the no-load tone pots in Fender's Delta Tone system.
Does it equate to being harsh??

I've no idea, I haven't tried it. You could try temporarily unsoldering your tone pot to see whether you like the effect.
