I'd like to get some recommendations for a set of humbuckers for a Les Paul Special. Jass/JB? Pearly Gates/Custom? Something else?
I like raw rock tones - a la Keef with overdrive. I like BEEF, but need to cut through the mix. I play live, and also need versatility (clean to AC/DC raunch).
I have a set of Phat Cats - very cool, but want to try something else, and have some problems with noise in some clubs (neon signs, etc.).

Anyone have a set they really like, or think would be good to try out?
