If you could have any one of these Fender reissues, which one would you most want to have any why? What do you like best about your selection? What do you dislike (if anything) about the other selections?

I do not own any of those (reissues) but I have trued them all, and IMO they are all 3 pretty good!

If I were gonna buy one of them right now I would bas my decision on how much power and overdrive I wanted...The Deluxe would be the easis to get any crunch out of, with the Super next then there is the Twin...All 3 are great amps IMO.

What are you looking for it to do?

bassman

but since that wasn't an option i chose deluxe, cuz it crunches the best out of those 3

B-bump...

You should have put a None Opton on there.

The thing that kills me about the reissues is that you can find an amp geek out there that can build you the exact model, handwired, premium components and such for the same price.

(COUGH COUGH) Celtic amps (COUGH COUGH), Brenna BF clone models....

I have a '68 SF Super Reverb and a '67 Deluxe Reverb. The other guitar player I play with has a Deluxe Reverb RI. By comarison I think my Deluxe has a better tone than his. Not that his is bad..... it lacks something that mine has and I can't put my finger on what it is. Getiing to your qusetion.

TWIN. The twin is a great clean amp at any volume. Volume is the key word here. The twin is almost unusabel in a lot of situations it is so loud. It has an almost unlimited amount of headroom. So if clean and loud is what you want this amp will be hard to beat. 80 watts 2 12quot; speakers.

Super Reverb. The Super Reverb has 40 watts with 4 10quot; speakers. A much more manageable Amp than the Twinn. It has plaenty of headroom and will OD really well when cranked up. It also has a stronger bottom than the Super due to the extrat amount of air it moves. (4 10quot; vrs 2 12quot;). This is one of my favorite Fender Amps.

Deluxe Reverb. 22 Watts and 1 12quot; speaker. For small Gigs and clubs this is the best amp made. The major negative about the Deluxe is the lack of headroom. Because of its low wattage it breaks up very well at low vloume, but when you need to play loud it is hard to get a good clean sound out of them... espicially with a HB pup. The bottom in these amps tends to get a little mushy at high volume, but that can be corrected by putting in a better speaker (a Celestian vintage 30 work incredible in these amps).

All of the Amps here respond really well to pedals. I use a CE2, CH1 TS9 and DD3 thru the Super and the Deluxe and they really work well. Some of the newer channel switching Fender don't seem to handle the pedals as well as these designs do.

If I had to have just one (fortunatley I don't) I would probably say the Super Reverb. But if you are playing in a low volume situation the Deluxe may be a better choice. Either way these are great Amps. I would also recommend to shop around and see if you can fiond a non Master Silver face. They are about the same money as the RI, but they sound better and they tend to be more reliable. The RI have the tube sockets mounted on P{C boards so as they age you could experience some loose solder joints on the board.

1 I just like the way it sounds. (the bassman)

What about Fender's Blues Deluxe Reissue with 40 watts and a 12” speaker .

How does this RI stackup with the three in the poll? Is a 40 watt version of the DRRI?

i was playin one of these the other day since it looked cool and the tag said $500......which had me interested, and it sounded really good with my strat......im gonna bring down my new les paul and see how well it holds up with that, but if it stays clean enough for me with that, i could see one of these in my future

no, it was at a local vintage shop around here, Mikes Music...... its the largest vintage store in Ohio......they had probably 20-25 different Tweed Fenders alone, from original vintage ones, to all the reissues.....

i could probably get it down to $450 too

Isn't the blues deluxe the same as the hotrod? They just used to be called blues deluxes instead of hotrod deluxes in the early 90's.

Or did they put different circuitry when they switched to hotrods?

im not sure, but it definately sounds different......it seems to be more warm and dark with more compression.....but still has the great pristine fender clean sound, just sounds like a warm broken in vintage amp......and cool reverb

Fender offers the Hot Rods separately from the current tweed series RI Blues Deluxe. They have similarities but they definitely are not exactly the same. The strange thing to me is that in the Tweed Series they offer 1x12 and 4x10 but not a 2x12 like in the Hot Rod Series. They all look attractive, but many reviews of the Hot Rods say the overdrive tone is undesireable and requires a mod. But, then, some of our respectable contributors on forum say that the DRRI needs a mod out of the box, cuz it's too bright as is.

*Time Machine Bump*

(And this should probably be moved to Amplifier Central. Can one of the admins do that?)
