anyone ever mix and match a dimarzio and a duncan? would it look goofy?
well, each brand of pickup seems to have it's own quot;voicingquot;. Sure they'll work fine together (in most cases). But they'll sound really different from each other depending on what you choose.

this is true..I really like the JB in my alder body lynch..
but Iv'e been considering getting a Dimarzio Evo2 in the bridge of my petrucci ebmm..I kinda like the dimarzio that's in the neck right now...
I have a Jazz in the neck of one of my Yamaha's paired with an ancient Super Distortion and the work very well together.

this may be a stupid question, but how does it look? the dimarzios are always smaller and duller looking, finish wise, and the duncans look bigger and are generally shinier....
I do it all the time- Sound's far more important to me than the look, but even then I think Dmzos look very nice-

The Jazz is black and the Super D is cream.
lol..well, I think I settled on a Steve's Special for my JP..I like that it's got a scooped eq..should sound good with the basswood
