I was jus curious about these ones

i have an old squier strat (my first guitar) that i just trew away in my closet after i was smart enought to realize the sound was awful.

I know this guy who is selling the set of tree ( from : localhost/) for about 80 bucks (the tree of them) he got them about a year ago and now he wanna change them for some thing else

What kind of sound kind i get of them besides the SVR tone, any other famous is using them??? what do you think???

they are OK for that price, but I prefer SSLs for that tone - smoother than the Texas Specials.

I agree. $80. for a set of three is a good price but I prefer Duncan SSL-1's or Antiquity Surfers. Lew

I prefer the SSL-1s, too, but lots of pros use the Texas Specials to produce great music (e.g., Mato of the band quot;Indigenousquot;). For $80 in good condition, they would be a big improvement over many stock pickups -- and at that price you could probably sell them for little loss if you don't like them.

They're the single coil equivalent of the Invader.

For Fender stuff, the Fat 50's and 69's are the only way to go. If SRV were alive, I'm sure he would have chosen the Fat 50's over the Texas Specials, for his signature strat.

What about the Fender '57/62 ? I have them in my Strat Plus, but not entirely satisfied. How do they compare to the SSL1 ?
