hello guys

i would like to hear your experiences with amps for a rick330. whats your favourite brand, which gear do you use?

sorry for my bad english

Fender Deluxe Reverbs work VERY well with Ric's, as do Pro Reverbs and AC30's....that's *THE* tone for a lot of Beatles, Tom Petty, Byrds type stuff

I would say any black or silver face Fender amp, or a Vox AC-15 or AC-30...maybe a Matchless, something along those lines

i´ve been thinking about an ac30 too but its hard to get around here. hmm i should keep on looking.
has anybody tried a framus amp?

Welcome to the forum!

Mesa-Boogie Studio.22 is a cheaper amp that sounds GREAT with Rics. The above amps are great as well. One way to get great tone out of Rics (when played clean, especially) is to use a bit of compression.

Good luck!

Good luck! That's not a bad idea at all!

i´m looking for the perfect clean sound : )

hmm good question, i have to think about that. hmm i like the sound of coldplay, the weakerthans and of course john frusciante (i know, he doesnt play a rick). its hard to form an idea of sound into wordsi have to think about it, maybe later i can tell you a better statement

It's hard to find a better match for a Ric than a vintage Top Boost JMI-era Vox AC-30. That's the sound of the Beatles and Tom Petty, in a nutshell.

For cleans, I've always felt Fender Super Reverbs/Twins, Matchless amps, and Vox reign supreme.

Laney VC30 on the clean channel and bright switch engaged.

BrentIs that an EL84 amp?

if you dont want to spend a ton, i heard that the new traynors sound pretty good with ricks. they have a very nice clean channel.

does anybody know the price of an AC30?
