Just found out one of my favorite band's guitarist uses this amp, anybody have any experience with it? I'm just fishin for any first-hand mini-reviews i can stir up.....

what band was it by chance was it the melvin's guitarist buzz . i used one a few years ago and was actually shocked that it sounded decent but it all depends on the cab used guitar and pedals its been hit or miss when it comes to some of their amps but others ive seen can do no wrong with them

I'll say two things...I have seen the Melvins at least a dozen times, and I have talked to Buzz several of those times and I never saw Buzz with a Peavey amp of any kind, like you guys I have read that he uses a Butcher but I never saw it...with Fantomas he does use 2 Marshall heads.

I will also say this...I have talked to several people that have used Butchers and people that do use Butchers, they ALL say that they sounds like a JCM 800!

I think Kevlar has one and though he isn't around here anymore my buddy Cheezemaster swears by his. Very JCM800 definitely, a good tube job and bias and you have a winner for cheap.

In a word: LOUD.

they sound good actually, but are a bit much for me.

buzz used marshallskevlar has one and loves it. he has some clips up somewhere...

The Peavey Butcher actually is somewhat of a JCM800 clone
