I know that EMG has a quick connect system for active pickups to allow in ease of switching out pickups and was wondering:

-is there a similar system for passive pickups (for any brand not just EMG)
-what modifications if any would you need to do to the guitar and pickups to impliment such a system

i think i remember someone saying they had such a system (for non-EMG pickups) but i dont remember the specifics about it

anyone?

Patience, Tux, your posts were less than 10 minutes apart.

The lack of a quick connect probably has a lot to do with the difference between 2 and 4 conductor wiring. With 4 conductor wiring there are so many possibilites that almost every installation needs to be somewhat customized.

well EMG HZs also come with quick connect but as Mike said in four conductor wiring it's not so much use since with the connerctors wiring gets a lot more difficult than with normal wires.

Other than EMG AFAIK no... the main reason for this is that it would be near impossible to get all the manufacturers of passives to agree on a single standard

right but is there a way to jerry rig it like say connect the 2 hot wires and the 2 grounds so that it would be 2 conductor wire
