I previously had a duncan designed jb pickup. I popped a dimebucker, i got more low end distortion, tighter top, nastier. Very expressive, but sometimes i cant handle it lol WHEW, its like hot sauce. Jesus. The reason i took the JB out was, not enough OOMPH on the low end, i emailed SD saying, i want the top end, but a chunkier bottom end. Dimebucker gave it to me, but i would prefer not as bitey. But i think if i had a alder NECK THROUGH, it would be better. Bolt on, bite, dimebucker, bite, its just, BITE ME IN THE ASS WHY DONT YA lol.

What do u guys think of the dimebucker?

I like mine in my AX...I use that guitar for open C tuning (CGCGCe). I like it there cause its a pretty low tuning (on a 24.75 scale no less), and it helps keep everything really defined and tight.

I'd say the dimebucker definately has a lot more high-end than the JB though. Its great for down tuning, but I didn't really like it all too much for standard. Partially all comes down to how you EQ your amp though.

yea, your post bought a realization to me... it would help for downtuning, and for standard, its too overwhelming, and yes i think it has more high end than a JB.

Im putting a tone zone in it, and returning the dime.

needs more bottom end pickups, and not just the go all out Invader. If not ill jus buy Dimarzio, nothing personal. But, Duncans are amazing, just for what i need in sound, I gotta go Dimarzio. Moderate/Bright wood, fat pickup. Alexi laiho, children of bodom lol amen!

Right, well, you did well my son. you removed that horrible, nasty, JB. As for the dime, i'll blame the usual culprits: first, it depends on what style of music youre playing. Second, what's your neck pickup? For classic/heavy rock, go custom to custom five. For higher tunings go for a invader. for metal maybe a distortion.

i know what i want, duncan doesnt have any fat pickups cept the invader and its too hot

o and i never use my neck pickup, unless im using my ibanez, i hate single coils

on my ibaenz i have a tone zone and the stock neck which sounds fine

I personally hate the Dimebucker!!! If you want your guitar to sound like a buzzsaw or a pissed off bumblebee, its a great choice!
