I'm really excited as my Twangbanger arrived safe and sound today! I was a little concerned after reading some of the posts here about people being scammed. The pickup was originally on ebay here in the UK, while I was trying to sell my Strat. I needed the funds for any purchase, so was unable to bid on it. I contacted him via email to ask if he was going to relist and he said he probably would but to let him know if I was still interested. A week later I sold my guitar and emailed to say I'd like the pickup. All of the deal was done privately. I didn't think much about it, until I saw some of the problems other people had.

The contact with the guy has been superb and there have been no hiccups and I am the proud owner of a Twangbanger. It restores your faith and trust in humanity a little. Can't wait to fit it. I'll let you know how it goes!

There's a difference in the caliber of people on Ebay, compared to the ones who list things on unregulated sites. It always makes me nervous doing a transaction outside of Ebay's auction, through Emails, but normally those sellers are on the up.

You've got to tell us how the twangbanger sounds.... and post some clips!

Will do. I'm fitting it this evening, along with a new set of Schaller locking tuners, and carrying out some sheilding of the pickup route. Looks like a busy evening!

Great pickup, my fave Strat single coil in the bridge by a huge margin.

did anyone try Dimarzio redvelvet before twangbanger came out?

Agreed....I'm an avid fan and user of the Twangbanger!

I have a Red Velvet Dimarzio currently in the bridge of my strat.

I'm a little dissapointed in the beefiness factor. Its tele-like, but I'd say the ratio is more 75% strat, 25% tele...its still pretty shrill at times.

I'd be curious to hear how the twangbanger sounds in my guitar.

The Dimarzio Blue Velvets in my neck and mid are great, but a little quot;politequot; sounding, if that makes any sense.

sounding, if that makes any sense.

interesting,
red velvet uses alnico5 and twangbaner uses alnico2. both have a bottem plate, of course. I hope twangbanger is smoother sounding.
