I have an Ibanez Rg thats 3 years old and I would like to upgrade the Crappy stock Floyd to a better unit, when I get the money.

I'd like to get an Ibanez Edge trem to replace it with. Will and Edge fit correctly? or maybe there is another ibanez floyd that would?

I dont really know anything about floyds so please help me out here.

i dont think ibanez sells their parts aftermarket, you could probably find a good trem at

else like Zerb or TwilightOdyssey would probably give the best advice.

ibanez parts
go on the side and go to tremolo unit and then find what your looking for. ( i think that might be what you need.(you could go to you ibanez dealer and ask then what you would need and that kind of stuff).

bump

sells ibanez parts. Personally I'd go for an OFR and pay to have someone fit it, the posts need moved to do this afaik.

Try this link from : localhost/to go straight to the trems- they're not cheap!

Carvin has the lowest price on original Floyds.....and if you want to save money, just keep the Floyd you have, but buy an Allparts bar retrofit for $14.

As long as a licensed Floyd is intonated and setup properly, they aren't that bad as long as you remove the screw-in bar assembly and replace it with the screw-ON Allparts kit.

What about one of these trem stabilizers?
from : localhost/one of these would keep the thing in tune?

I think a lot of it depends on the type of trem. My lo-trash2 trem for instance, will only take an OFR as replacement. Any other and I'd have to carve a larger cavity and or bore new holes for the trem posts.

Talk to the dude at Ibanez Rules. He knows anything worth knowing about Ibanez' and will tell you what you need to know.

He may be real short about it....but he knows his stuff and won't steer your wrong.

If the problem is tuning stability, then it sounds like the intonation is out.
Most people neglect intonating Floyds because it's such a pain, but you've probably made other minor adjustments on that guitar, which threw off the intonation.
As long as the base plate is flush with the top of the body when the guitar is in perfect tune, then you just need to adjust the saddles. See my post on Rainmaker's Intonation thread in the Vault for complete step by step instructions.

Dropping an original Floyd in is your only option without mods. I'd recommend the swap to anyone. The TRS bridges are crap..poorly made, and suck tone like no other.
