ok i have my USACG put together for a few months now and i thought it sounded pretty damn good, but i never had a good amp to try it on at home or any good guitars to compare it too.

my friend recently got a job at a music store that has PRS, Music Man, Gibson, Hamer ( cheap ones), epiphone, Fender USA models and Mexican.

so i sat and compared it to all these guitars through a rivera tube amp as well as a solid state AVT marshall.
to my suprise the USACG played just as good in terms of tone as the PRS and gibson. hope i dont insult anyone but i think it actually sounded better than most of them. even people that came in that were friends of ours and tried it out were astonished on how great it sounded.
i knew it was a good guitar but i really didnt think that it was THAT good. even the work i did on laquering the neck was good and it was my first time doing something like that. a Les Paul which i saw ( that sounded good by the way had 'orange peel' on the part where the neck joins the body near the fret board. and that guitar was 2500 euros!

mine cost me about 700euros! and it is a one piece honduras mohogany body and maple neck. callaham trem, jb in the bridge.

after that i dont think i will ever buy another store bought guitar again!
the USA strats were pale in comparison.

i really didnt think that the difference would be that huge.
i thought that when making a bolt on that they actually tried to 'match the wood' of the neck and body for it to come out good.

it was a real eye opener, and great relief to know that i dont have to rely on these companies to make me a good guitar.

I'm spraying my USACG tele project (w/ a 25quot; scale neck). I can't wait to get it together.

Man......good for you! I'm not insulted at all nor am I surprised. My USACG tele is by far the best sounding and playing guitar out of the 12 or so electrics I have. These include a bone stock 71 Tele, 67 ES-335, 67 SG, 90's PRS and a custome built semi-hollow! Don't get me wrong...the others are fine guitars, but the USACG tele is a few notches above.
