sup guys. im getting an ibanez rg32 and i wanna put new pickup in at the bridge(i dont really use pickups at the neck) once i get it. i was thinkin along the lines of either a dimebucker,a livewire metal, or an invader. i really want something w/ a bright tone, a lot of sustain, and i really high output. i just dont know which 1 i should get. can yall help meh?
A Duncan Distortion would probably fill those shoes pretty easily. A Custom is good as well with a little more low end and not as high output. I've also had the JB and '59 but I'm not such a fan. I'd reccomend the Distortion.
Hey man, WELCOME TO THE FORUM!
I'm with H8red a Distortion would do pretty good, also a JB. However the problem you are going to find is that the RG is thin already, and made of bright woods, so we don't want to recommend something that is gonna make you bleed. What kind of tone are you looking for besides bright?

YESS!!! Kill em all had some distortions used quite a bit if I remember right. I'd start there, and if it doesn't do it for you then you can use the Duncan excahnge policy. Are you going to replace them yourself? The Ibanez color codes are different than the SD, and chances are if you are having a tech do it that they'll get it wrong and give you the guitar back. I say that because I am one and kow how dumb most of them are!

All the tech has to do is read the little pink paper that comes in the box of every Duncan pickup. The color code is right there. If they can't figure it out from that, they really ARE dumb!

It's like Johnjohn said, when he was apprenticing in one shop the luthier jumped all over him for trying to help. Most techs just assume they know it all already, and stock pups are good in ever case, if you don't like the stock pups get a better guitar!!
That's why they laugh when people buy SD's etc. because they install buckers with only one coil on, then think they sound crappy, therefore REINFORCING their opinion that stock pups are the best, but give it back to the guy/kid/whatever and laugh when they say it doesn't sound right (well son that's just the way Duncans sound).
After all that 2 weeks later the customer finds the pink paper and pops open the guitar, wow only one lead is in the right place, then they check onto the forum and we spend 12-48 hrs straightening out the problem.

Just to add to the dumb techs discussion, I went into a local shop once to buy some pots cause I was changing stuff (didn't want to order online at the time). The tech was the guy I talked to, and he asked me why I'm buying a certain value pot. He then started to convince me that different value pots make no difference in the sound.
hey dude what u mean by color codes??
Distortion or Custom would be perfect for what you need

the duncan p'ups come with four conductor cables. red, white black and green, and the bare wire. the ibanez usually only has one. my gax 70 only had one green wire. the duncan schematic explains how to wire it properly.
ahhh. thanks dude
I spent some time tonight correcting my string height and what not and I just wanted to say that if Kill 'Em All is the sound you're looking for the Distortion is the way to go. However with the brighter sounding guitar if the Distortion isn't working out for you you might want to check out the Custom. PRetty much what i said this morning but just throwing some more weight behind the Distortion.
