Im going to fit my 57 reissue strat with some hot rails(neck and bridge) and im thinking of fitting it with 500k volume pots.Is there anything extra i have to do to fit my guitar with them new pots? Are they thicker than usual or anything like that causing me to cut a hole in my guitar?
Not to worry. The added resistance is a function of the makeup of the internal carbon strip. External dimensions are the same.
The only exception would be, if you have those cheapy import pots that are real small, and upgrade to quality CTS's. They should still fit just fine.
Cool thanks a lot.But im kinda confused by your last sentance.Do you mean that the CTS volume pot will fit in my guitar or it wont?
I swopped out some pots, and found the shaft slightly longer, making the knob sit too high off the scratchplate. Instead of cutting the posts down, i just put some spacers/washers on the pot then put it through the plate...now's fine
