Yeah... The treadle on my wah, a Vox V848 Clyde custom blah blah...
How do you get it off? I'm replacing the gear claw thing (I'm not sure what to call it) - the piece that turns the pot.
This would be no problem except that I cannot figure out how to remove the treadle to get easy access to the gear's point of attachment (excuse my vague circumvention of the word, and any other words I misuse, like circumvention)
Also, the gear has a hole in it, and through that hole is a small, thin metal bar that is attached to two outcroppings on the botton side of the treadle. I cannot figure out how to get this bar out of the way either.
ANY help would be appreciated, even if it's not helpful to the wah.
I think Mr. Spina would be able to explain it better than I could, but if you're lost I'm sorry!
Thanks
Eric

I've not had to remove the treadle on one yet,but there's a roll pin that runs through the chassis of the wah...You'll have to take a hammer and center punch and bang that pin out? (I might be thinking of the Crybaby though?)...After that, there's a 6/32quot; screw and nut that is under the top center of the circuit board that has to be removed....I have an 848 and I'll go look now?
I just looked at my 848....All you need to do is place the treadle in the full quot;toe backquot; position, take a real small round jeweler's screwdriver or a real small round punch and knock the little roll pin out at the top of the treadle...Don't remove the treadle...It's too much work and you don't need to!
OR.....Take either a pair of needle nose pliers or diagonal cutting piers...Grasp the little tiny roll pin with either of these 2 tools and while holding grasping pressure on the roll pin..Tap the pliers with a small hammer...That pin will come out far enough to where you'll be able to grab it with the pliers...Install the new part and line up the roll pin and tap it right back in....
Alright, awesome. Thanks John. I really wasn't looking forward to removing the whole treadle. This is much better. I'll try it tomorrow when I have enough brain power on tap to avoid smashing my hands.

Please contact me before you do something you aren't comfy with...Ask me first...I'm on the forums alot(Too much)and I'd rather help you through the task and not see you screw your awesome 848 up..It's easy if you've done it before..it would take me no longer than 2 minutes to get that little roll pin out if I had to on my own wahs...
Hah yeah. I will definately PM (if you don't mind) or just post some thread thing or whatnot. Yeah if I messed this up I'd be real pissed. I've done some work on it (Fulltone pot inductor) but nothing like this. And I don't want to waste money having some dude at Samash or GC do it (not that they would, but I hate them...)
Right-o
Thanks again

If you run into any problems, send it to me...You must know about all the mods I've been doing to wahs and all soughts of overdrive and distortion pedals?

In almost every thread there will me someone who replies with a Spina-modded Tubescreamer or Vox! If I ever get a Tubescreamer, it's going to FLARIDA! Yes so I am about to try this, wish me luck! I'll come back either really happy or really mad Much Thanks!
SUCCESS! Thanks, John. I used a vicegrip to just pull out the pin (the end of it was sticking out - Thanks VOX hahahahaha).
Right. So all is well and dandy! As soon as that piece comes in I'll be in business!
