I believe this to be the ultimate guitar for me. I was wondering what the quickest (and er, cheapest ) way to get there was? I was thinking a Charvel model 3a with a maple neck...Or a model 3a body with Warmoth neck, or all warmoth. Or do any other brands had pointy strats necks made of maple similar to this?

Ahhhh too many projects!!!!

As soon as the model 1a gets its proper nut, I'll put the FullShred and OBL450 on it, but I'll need a custom pickguard for it. So eh maybe I'll just go for a single humbucker. For that I'd need a new pickguard and to file down the humbucker screws. Anyhoo here's a pic:

And for the one on the post above I'd just get a Warmoth body and neck, and order all the hardware here in Europe. Problem, the neck and body would be about 700 dollars with paint Does anyone know of cheaper places on where to get this? I'd want an Alder body, maybe Ash, routed for HxS, Floyd, and with the jack on the side. The neck may end up being mighty mite, but it'd have to fit a Standard Strat pocket, be pointy, all maple with 22 jumbo frets (size doesn't matter a whole lot).

Can anyone help me with websites for pickguards and custom guitars (aside from Warmoth and USACG), preferable in Europe? I know of GSR and WD music for the pickguard, but I think there may be others.

don´t know any
Q

How about finding a luthiere school that could make the neck, or looking for used necks?

As for the pickguards, a dude I know Bought a piece of pickuard material, a dremel, and had a brand spanking new pickguard after 1 hour. He was darn fast witht he Dremel.

To do this I'd need a wooden template, a dremel, material... and space. Of which I have neither I'll do that this summer in Amsterdam when I build my guitar from scratch, but for now it's pretty impossible
If I knew of a lutherie school, I'd be there It's a smart idea though, maybe there's something similar here, I'll look into it thanks.

Kramer made a pointy headstock similar to that I think??????

Yeah they did I think. But their bodies aren't 100% Strats I think
Ahhhh screw it. I'm GASing for a pointy one hum guitar, so the model 1a will just get the FullShred, the midboost system and a 3 way miniswitch. That should be Muahaha. It'll be wired as on/onwithbypassedboost/split, if possible, and it will KICK ASS!
Tomorrow I'll try and finish that damn but but that low E is always too low grrr...
Do guitar techs usually are able to shape pickguards? It'd be much easier for me to bring the current pickguard and ask a tech for one with the exact same dimensions, but with the routing I want.

Ohhhh and I could slant the humbucker...
Ohhh that'll look cool. Yum.
I don't think I'll go through with the other project, unless I get a job that pays better than expected. Warmoth or anything else would be too much. Musikraft seems to be way cheaper, but with the taxes and shippings I doubt it'd be worth it at all. When I finish my studies I'll open a European Warmoth. Who's in for that?

Man, the 80's really are back, huh? You couldn't GIVE those guitars away in the 90's.

Hey, Pierre,

I think most techs have steady enough hands to cut new pickguards using the old ones as templates for the shape. That's what the dude I mentioned earlier did.

Also, at least in this town, the local glass/window shop can do high-percision cutting on plastic, too. And they are small enough a business to take one-off jobs.

I suppose I'm lucky to live here..

I just asked around the shops... One tech basically told me to go away when I asked him for advise (eh well he's pretty busy, I can understand...), at another shop the tech is not there so I have to wait a week, yet another shop I'll call in tomorrow, and I actually had to give in the pickguard I have now as a template to another shop because their tech works out of town... So hopefully by the end of the week I'll know who to contact for it...
Before I get it done though, I'll wire in the CoolRails I'm supposed to get from ArtieToo (Should arrive pretty soon) whenever I get the pickguard back, just to try it. Then it'll go in the middle position of the model 4.
I'll wire the FullShred to a volume pot with pushpull split, with the remaining on/off/on switch I have as on/off/bypassed volume pot and see how it sounds... If I love it, it'll stay this way, if not I'll switch the jacks from the model 1a and 4 (the 4 has a stereo jack that's needed for the midboost) and wire in the midboost... And replace the on/off/on by a on/on/on and have it wired as on/on with bypassed midboost/split and then I will GO NUTS!!! ARGHHHHHHH it's complicated
I think I set up on the plan. Let me try and do the wiring diagrams...That last option may be a problem, but I can always do on/off/bypassed and use a 2 way switch to split it (I also have a spare one).
